What I hope to learn from this source :

I want to learn about effects and recent circumstances after abolishing net neutrality.

Notes :

1. Residents of Washington are getting back the so-called net neutrality laws using the nation's first state law to prevent Internet service providers from blocking and slowing down content online. The law, signed on 5, March by the Democratic governor Jay Inslee, is the most extensive federal rule to date to lift regulations on how high-speed Internet providers process digital data. The abolition of the nationwide law, approved by the Federal Communications Commission last year, has triggered fierce protests from consumers and technology companies.

2. The new law is one of several efforts to counter the changes in the F.C.C. Lawmakers in about 24 states have proposed a bill that is similar to Washington State. And many governors, including New York and Montana, have signed administrative measures to prevent Internet service providers from blocking or delaying data on their lines under state contracts. Several lawsuits have been filed against the Supreme Court, including consumer groups and numerous state attorney offices. Another suit was filed on Monday by technology companies like Etsy, Fotosquare, and Kickstarter.

3. The Washington State law went further by immediately implementing consumer protection measures defined by federal law in 2015. The bill was passed with widespread support in the state legislature. “At the core of our action today is consumer protection,” Mr. Inslee said in an interview. “States need to act because under the Trump administration, we have seen citizens, including seven million in Washington, stripped of core protections like the open internet.”

Final Thoughts :

I knew there are a lot of opponents of the change in the federal regulations even the state. I thought Internet service providers could sue the state of Washington and overturn this rule. And they also felt that the governors could sue the states that signed the executive order calling for pure neutrality.
